Porady dla twórców gier tekstowych z 1990 roku

One subject which can be rather delicate is Pornography. In particular, Leather Goddesses has a mildly pornographic theme, handled, I think, quite tastefully and amusingly. Leather Goddesses takes care to allow female players, and delivers alternate text and characters for them. Other games which go into much more detail on the mechanics of sex
are much less appealing, and often insulting to female audiences. The buyers of such games would not be the mainstream of adventurers, and the games lack subtlety, even when compared to `girly’ magazines.

Za wiki:

This game Infocom’s first “sex farce” and featured selectable “naughtiness” levels ranging from “tame” to “lewd.”
Leather Goddesses of Phobos was very successful.

It was Infocom’s best-selling game in 1986 with 53,543 copies sold. The company sold a total of about 130,000 copies, three times as many as any other game after Activision bought them. The game was Infocom’s last to sell more than 100,000 copies, and its sixth best-selling game overall.

In the 2015 film The Martian starring Matt Damon, Leather Goddesses of Phobos was referenced as being loaded on fellow astronaut Beth Johanssen’s laptop along with Infocom’s Zork II.
